Cart before horse?

Premature (adjective)
1. occurring, coming, or done too soon.
2. mature or ripe before the proper time.
Currently our parlor looks like this:

And today Ayumi decided that it would be a good time to shop for light fixtures... yes, light fixtures...

Sooooooooooooo, we bought a sconce for the parlor. In addition to being our electrician, Ayumi is our lead interior designer (but I'm also pretty important). I think we are going for kind of a classic, plain look in the room with just a couple accent items (like a sconce). We like this one because it looks a little old but has some intrigue and a pinch of crystal.
What is that saying: "Walls before sconce, you are a ponce. Sconce before walls, house never falls." Okay, cool, I think we are okay.
