Insulation: the end is in sight

So...we tackled insulation on Friday despite lingering uncertainties as to the type of insulation. We decided to go with fiberglass (as opposed to blown-in cellulose or foam), because it's the easiest and by far the cheapest (maybe not the best reason). You have to be very careful to get all the cracks so that required a lot of measuring and cutting the batting to the right size. You also have to be completely covered (goggles, mask, long sleeves and pants) with fiberglass, which gets really uncomfortable pretty fast. After we put up the insulation, we further covered that with plastic as a vapor barrier. gah. Hope it's ok.

It was one of the hotter days on Friday - mid 90s - which is a laugh after what we endured in Durham, but as you can imagine after working in a room with insulation of all things, we were a little sweaty. So we decided to head to our favorite water hole - Mascoma lake. It's a beautiful freshwater lake that's only a ~7min drive from our house, located in a quaint little town called Enfield.
Mascoma lake, a brisk, refreshing end to a hard day's work

so pretty!

yum, fresh seafood at a local joint, Mickey's
After dinner, we drove back and then walked to Dairy Twirl, which is a walk-up soft serve/ice cream shop that's busy all hours, 7 days a week (busy in Lebanon terms, mind you).

follow that fried seafood up with some peach soft serve with cherry dip!

lounging on our awesome couch: good work Dan, good work Mango

  1. I bet Pong was warbling out the window at neighboring cats. He doesn't like leather, anyway. Also, on a side note, Pong is losing weight from running all over the big house!
